Realme 8 and 8 Pro: New mid-range choices from Realme

The first thing you will notice in both Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro is the “DARE TO LEAP” text on the back. It’s a very bold step to add such a big branding mark. The contemporary elegant branding concept is rather minimalist. Altogether, it may not fit with the taste of many users to have such a big brand slogan on the back. On the other hand, some die-hard Realme fans may prefer it. It’s up to you how you see it. Both phones come with fine specs.
Realme 8
We have a 6.4″ Full HD+ Super AMOLED display which is nice but was sort of expected. The 64 MP main back camera is good, but nothing extraordinary. The 5000 mAh battery comes with 30W Fast Charging which can charge 0 to 100% in just 65 minutes which is a big plus point. We have a MediaTek Helio G95 as the chipset. Don’t underestimate the “MediaTek” here. Helio G95 performs better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 10‘s Snapdragon 678. Redmi Note 10 is also giving you 6 GB RAM whereas Realme 8 is coming with 8 GB RAM but point to be noted that you have to pay ৳1,000 extra for Realme 8. The 128 GB ROM is a fast UFS 2.1 one. There is also an in-display fingerprint sensor. Overall, it is one of the finest entry-level mid-range device in the market right now.
Realme 8 Pro
Realme 7 Pro was one of the hottest mid-range releases last year. It was a huge surprise for everyone to have a 65W Fast Charger in a mid-range phone. This year we have a 50W Charger which is a little downgrade but still the fastest among any phones in this price range. There is an improved 108 MP main back camera. The 16 MP front camera is slightly downgraded as well compared to last year’s 32 MP one. The chipset remains the same Snapdragon 720G. Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 10 Pro beats it with a Snapdragon 732G chipset.
Last year we also had a Gorilla Glass 3+ in Realme 7 Pro. This year, 8 Pro is not offering any display protection. However, overall, it’s still a great choice in the current competition.
